Today Miss Kraftchuk read us a story called "Miss Nelson is Missing" but Miss Kraftchuk changed the Miss Nelson's name to Miss Kraftchuk and Ms Olney.
This made a laugh.
We really enjoyed this version of the story by some children just like us!
We have lots of "Magic School Bus" books in our library.
We found one on water changing.
We have been reading the
"Waterhole" by Graeme Base.
We really enjoyed this book and all the other books by Graeme Base!
We think Jez Alborough writes some very funny stories, especially the ones about a giant teddy and Eddy, here is one that we really enjoyed.
In the last few weeks we have been having a great time with a very large box. We have been pirates in a ship, mermaids on a rock, being babies in a cot and loads of other exciting things!
Today we read "Not a Box" by Antoinette Portis. It's a great book about using a box and your imagination. We hope you enjoy it too.
Here are some pictures of some of us with our Premier Preschool Friends

This week we are going to be writing about the "The Little Pigs" but we are going to put our own spin on it. Here is the video we watched today to motivate our writing.
We read "Look after your Planet" by Lauren Child.
We liked the ideas that Charlie and Lola had and this helped us to see that we do a lot of things in our class to save the planet!
Today we read "The Very Cranky Bear"
We really liked how the sheep showed empathy to the bear. We think that it is really important to be kind, thoughtful and supportive. If we show kindness we will feel happy in our hearts too!
We have also been reading "The Gruffalo"...its one of our favourites!
We read "The Monster at the End of this Book"...maybe some of our parents remember this from when they were little. We laughed so much.
We read the "Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.
It made us think really carefully about giving. We thought of ways we can give to others. We suggested that giving hugs, helping at home, doing things just because...would make others happy but that it makes us feel great too.
We went outside and gave back to our nature play area...some of us said kind things to the tree.
Some of us gave the trees a hug.
We read "Quaky Cat" by Diana Noonan today.
You can listen to the story.

This week we read a story called "A my name is Alice" by Jane Bayer. It was pretty funny, it was about different animals that start with the letters of the alphabet...we hadn't even heard of some of the animals!
After Ms Olney read the story we made up our own stories using our names...
"A Color of his Own" by Leo Leoni
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

“Chameleons are Cool” by Martin Jenkins, was a funny non-fiction book that we read.
We learnt that chameleons actually don’t camouflage like the fiction books tell us, but that they change colour depending on their mood...
Louisa said “if it is sad it might turn blue because we say we are blue when we are sad” and Sam thought that it would turn red if it was angry because red is an angry colour!

I would like to read that book! Alice Room 5
