Maths

This week we have been working on ordering numbers to 20.  We have been looking at the order, what numbers come before and after, what number is in between.  We were ordering numbers to music, like musical chairs.  Every time the music stopped we had to get into order.  We had so much fun!

We were dancing so fast we are a blur!

 
 On Teddy Bear Day we did some statistics by graphing "Gummy Bears". 
We had to count how many bears we had in each colour then we graphed them in a bar graph.  We had to find out which colour we had the MOST, which one had the least and which had the same!

Sesame Street always makes us giggle...

...plus we learn too!
 
We have been skip counting in 2's.  
We know it is quicker to could in 2's and 5's and 10's.  We will be able to multiply groups soon!

We have been looking at creating and completing "Repeating Patterns".  We used different things to create our patterns...peg boards, tiny teddies, little people, the ipads and more.  Ms Olney thinks we were pretty clever and rather creative!

We can now count by 5's.  We have been looking at groups of 5, we know that today is May 20th and that there are 4 groups of 5 or 4 x 5 = 20.
